What is Perimenopause?

Women typically enter perimenopause in their 40s, though it can begin in their 30s, marking the natural transition toward menopause. During this time, fluctuating hormones can significantly impact our health and wellbeing. Common symptoms include: difficulty concentrating and brain fog, unpredictable hot flashes, irregular and heavy periods, anxiety that can affect decision-making, and sleep disturbances that impact energy levels and productivity throughout the day. These symptoms are experienced by up to 75% of women, yet many suffer in silence due to lack of proper support.

For the past 5 years I’ve struggled with my health and navigating life, including an autoimmune disease, thyroid disease, chronic Lyme disease, going through a divorce, moving, going back to school, and experiencing symptoms of perimenopause, while also being a nurse who thought I “should know how to heal and be well!” However, finding and integrating holistic practices into my diet and lifestyle changed everything for the better. I reclaimed my health and want to help others do the same.
